The Chinese Dragon is a mythological symbol that dates back to 3000 BC and stands for happiness, immortality, procreation, fertility and activity. The Chinese Dragon is also the symbol of the Chinese race. The Chinese proclaim themselves “Long De Chuan Ren” (Descendent of the Dragon). Dragons are deeply rooted in Chinese culture. Its benevolence signifies greatness, goodness and blessings. The Chinese Dragon, or “Long”, symbolizes power, excellence and boldness, heroism and perseverance, nobility and divinity. A dragon overcomes obstacles until finding success.

The Golden Dragon Award will honour, award and encourage preeminent and significant Chinese filmmakers and their works. The ICFF jury will consist an international team of high profile, directors, producers, actors, actresses and filmmakers.

ICFF Golden Dragon Awards includes both Competition and Exhibition section. Films in the competition compete for the Golden Dragon Award in the following categories:

  • Best Film
  • Best Director
  • Best Actress
  • Best Actor
  • Best Playwriter
  • Special Jury Recommendations
